Vehicle management
We offer a complete vehicle name change service, facilitating all the necessary procedures so that you don’t have to worry about anything. We take care of the entire process, from document verification to tax clearance, guaranteeing a fast and secure process.
Necessary Documentation to Process the Change of Name of a Vehicle
In order to change the name of a vehicle, the following documentation is required. Below, we detail each of the documents and steps you must follow.
Required Documents
- Original vehicle registration certificate.
- Photocopy of the vehicle’s technical data sheet.
- Photocopy of the buyer’s ID card.
- If you are buying a company, include a photocopy of the company’s CIF, the administrator’s ID and a signed legal representation form.
- Photocopy of the seller’s ID card.
- If you are selling a company, include a photocopy of the company’s CIF, the administrator’s ID and a signed legal representation form.
- Purchase and sale contract signed by both parties.
- If you sell a company, an invoice is required. This document can be found in our website, in the drop-down menu: “Services” – “Vehicle Management” – “Contract of Sale and Purchase”.
- Two signed representation mandates.
- One for each party (buyer and seller). This document will be provided by our brokerage firm.
- Road tax receipt.
- It is not necessary to provide it, however, the current year’s tax return must be paid.
Transfer tax
In some cases, the buyer must pay the Transfer Tax when the name change is made. This should be done if any of the following situations occur:
- If the vehicle is less than ten years old, and it is not sold by a company.
- If the buyer is resident outside Catalonia, and it is not sold by a company.

Important: Signature and Verification
If you are interested, we offer to make the arrangements for you, taking into account the following point, which is VERY IMPORTANT:
- Both the seller and the buyer will have to come to our office to sign the necessary forms. This is to verify that each party is the person he/she claims to be.
- For data protection reasons, we cannot accept signed forms without your presence in our office. In this way, we avoid impersonation, deception and future legal problems or liabilities for everyone.
In the event that one of the two parties is unable to attend, there is the possibility of signing digitally. This is done by sending an SMS to that person’s cell phone, at a cost of 5€.
